JCCA's Ametz (ametz is Hebrew for adoption) Adoption Program for those adopting privately (domestically or internationally) has helped ease the adoption process for thousands of families. Ametz works with birth and adoptive parents, their children and extended families.
Ametz offers homestudies, post-placement supervision, educational workshops, support groups and counseling to couples, singles, children and extended family members before, during and after the adoption.
Ametz does not place children for adoption. Through consultation, Ametz refers prospective adoptive parents to attorneys and agencies who assist in the location and placement of children for adoption.
Ametz works with persons of all faith and backgrounds. Programs specifically designed for Jewish families are offered throughout the year.
Ametz allows singles and couples experiencing infertility to explore or concurrently start adoption as a way to build their families.
Ametz is a fee-for-service program. Some scholarships are available.

JCCA Receives Hague Accreditation
We are proud to announce that the Council on Accreditation (COA) has granted Jewish Child Care Association’s application for Hague Accreditation pursuant to the Intercountry Adoption Act of 2000 (IAA).
The Hague Convention is an international treaty the US has joined to prevent child buying, kidnapping and trafficking around the world. While not all countries with international programs are joining the Convention, for those who are, beginning April 1, 2008, there will be changes in the adoption process.
As a result of JCCA’s Hague accreditation, the Ametz Adoption Program will be playing an active role in international adoptions.
