HAITI UPDATE:

The situation in Haiti remains in flux. It is the goal of the governments of Haiti and the United States, UNICEF and others to provide the children of Haiti with shelter, medical care, nutrition and safe transport, whether they are orphans or temporarily separated from family members. Many safeguards have been setin place to see this is accomplished diligently and as quickly as possible. The following websites are good sources of information:

Joint Council on International Children's Services (JCICS)

U.S. Department of State (information on the adoption of children affected by natural disasters and conflict)

U.S. Department of State Blog

United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)

InterAction: A United Voice for Global Change

UNICEF

Click here to locate adoption agencies that prior to the earthquake placed children from Haiti.
